I added the Google Translate and the most recent posts widgets to the site. I’m getting less enamored with Facebook by the day and have been thinking about alternative ways to keep in touch with friends and family while I’m studying in Italy next semester. Some people would say that I’m a bit slow on the uptake but I did finally come to the realization that my WordPress site would be the perfect way to do that.

Translate was added because I’m sure that I will become so fluent in Italian in 4 months that all of my posts will need translation for the English speakers in the crowd !  I have already had a couple of family members subscribe to the blog and I wanted them to be able to see the latest posts with dates.

My theme (Bushwick) shows the widgets in a different way. The only option to add them was to the sidebar so that’s what I did. However, they only display when you click on the menu button on the top right of the page. Not exactly what I was expecting but they are functional.
